Mushrooms

If you’re a lover of mushrooms, then you will love that these versatile veg are available all year round! Right now, South Aussie mushrooms are tasting fantastic – Button, Large BBQ, Portabella, Swiss  – it doesn’t matter, they’re all ready and waiting to be eaten. The Australian Mushroom Growers Association have been campaigning their Blend recipes – try mixing your mince meat with mushrooms and add some extra vitamins and flavour to your dinners. Peaches

For those that have been waiting for the stone fruit season, wait no more because Riverland Peaches have arrived at the markets and headed to local fruit and veg stores. Not only do peaches taste fantastic, but they are also rich in Vitamin A and their skin full of fibre. Spinach

There’s a good reason why Popeye loved his Spinach! It is an extremely healthy and beneficial leafy vegetable to add to your diet as it is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants. Spinach packs a punch with copious amounts of vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid, iron, and calcium. If you needed more convincing, Spinach is also very high in fibre which aids in good digestion. Spinach can be added to just about any meal from soups and salads to frittatas and curries!

Cherries

Aussie Cherries are in supply from November through to the end of February and are the quintessential summer fruit.  You know Christmas is near when you find these shiny red bursts of goodness in your local fruit and veg store.  Not only are Cherries great tasting but you can also enjoy the health benefits as they are a good source of vitamin C, potassium, and fibre to name a few.
