Oyster Mushrooms

Traditionally imported into Australia from Asia, South Australia now has a consistent and steady supply of Oyster mushrooms grown right here in Elizabeth.  After converting an old Holden’s paint shed into an oyster mushroom farm South Australia now has access to locally grown Oyster mushrooms to add to their weekly shopping.  Incorporating oyster mushrooms into your cooking can add a twist to your meals. Oyster mushrooms have a delicate, mild taste and a tender texture that makes them versatile and enjoyable to work with. These mushrooms are known for their ability to absorb and enhance the flavours of other ingredients, making them a perfect addition to stir-fries, soups, pasta dishes, and even grilled dishes.

Green Kiwi Fruit

Kiwi fruit is in plentiful supply and who doesn’t love a green kiwi fruit for a healthy snack. With its vibrant green color and tangy-sweet taste, green kiwi fruit is not only delicious but also a nutritious choice for promoting overall well-being. A good source of potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure and supports heart health, Kiwi fruit is Packed full of Vitamin C which boosts the immune system.  Either cut in half and eaten with a spoon or peeled and sliced, these refreshing fruits are a must and of course, how great do they look dressed on a pavlova or in a fruit salad!

Sicily Mandarin

The Sicily Mandarin variety is a true gem among citrus fruits and it is being picked fresh from the Riverland right now. With its smooth, bright orange skin and plump, juicy segments, it is a visual treat that invites you to indulge. The flavour profile of the Sicily Mandarin is a delightful balance of sweet and tangy, with a refreshing zing that awakens the senses. One grower described this variety as the mandarin for orange lovers – a similar flavour to a navel with the ease of eating that comes from a mandarin.

Celery

One of our favourite versatile vegetables is in season as we speak – Celery! This humble veg can be included in a variety of dishes, Salad? Pasta Sauce? Soup? We say all of the above. If this still doesn’t have you convinced, just slather a piece with peanut butter, you won’t regret it. Celery is a good source of vitamin K, which plays a crucial role in bone health. Vitamin K helps ensure that calcium is properly utilized and incorporated into bone tissue, promoting bone strength and density.
