SPINACH

Fresh spinach is in great supply this week, with vibrant green bunches offering plenty of versatility in the kitchen. Naturally rich in a range of nutrients, spinach is an easy addition to everyday meals. Enjoy it fresh in salads, wilt it through pasta and curries, add it to soups and frittatas, or blend it into your morning smoothie.

POMEGRANATE

Make the most of the last of the South Australian pomegranate season! These jewel-like seeds add a beautiful burst of sweet, tangy flavour and colour to salads, breakfast bowls and desserts. Local supplies are wrapping up, so enjoy them while they’re still on the shelves.

KALETTES

Fresh from the Adelaide Hills, kalettes are tasting fantastic this week. If you haven’t tried them before, this relatively new vegetable combines characteristics of kale and Brussels sprouts, with a mild, slightly sweet and nutty flavour. They’re incredibly versatile — enjoy them raw, roasted, stir-fried, grilled or steamed. For something simple, toss with olive oil and a little salt and roast until the edges are crisp.

QUINCE

Adelaide Hills quinces are a highlight at this time of year. Similar in appearance to an apple or pear, quince has a firm texture and fragrant aroma and really comes into its own when cooked. Slowly poach, bake or stew it and watch the pale flesh transform into a beautiful rosy colour. Choose firm fruit with minimal bruising and use it in preserves, desserts or alongside cheese.
